There’s a one-of-a-kind boutique festival that takes place deep in Europe’s last wilderness, Bulgaria’s Rhodope Mountains. Every year, its underground music soars above the clouds, its community grows closer, and its regenerative culture inspires everyone involved.

The festival is called Meadows in the Mountains and I’d been hearing raving reviews for years. So when they asked me to write their website copy, I couldn’t resist. Creating the website was a labor of love, and my Interrail journey to the festival in 2023 became my own summer of love. What a hidden gem of a festival!

Unfortunately, the festival is struggling financially, facing challenges like the pandemic and revoked permits. Most of the website—and therefore my copy—went offline before I took any screenshots. The screengrabs below capture only a fraction of the work I created for them. Let’s hope they’ll rise again—I’d gladly climb another mountain with them!
